hvo stands for Helena Velez Olabarria.

 I am a visual researcher, photographer and cultural producer with over 10 years of experience and a professional understanding of lens-based projects and visual narratives from the making to their public display. 

Visual exploration, of mine or other authors, is in a way a personal & artistic research that aims at giving a deeper understanding of what moves society, what makes people connect and what makes us need to belong to somewhere or something.

I've proudly collaborated with the Offspring Photo Meet, the Bengali Photo Archive, the Photographic Social Vision Foundation, the World Press Photo Foundation, Rubor and MID studio. 

I am currently based in East London -  but available worldwide!
